Marketplace Disclosures
1. Platform Directory Role & Non-Dealer Notice
ChicagoPickups.com is owned and operated as an independent digital classifieds directory and online advertising platform. ChicagoPickups.com is NOT a licensed motor vehicle dealership, automotive broker, financing agency, or auction house.
We do not sell, buy, barter, possess, inspect, or warrant any pickup trucks listed on this website. All listings, data, and details are uploaded by independent private sellers or partner commercial dealerships. We do not participate in negotiations, facilitate financial transactions, or hold vehicle titles. Any agreement, financing, or transfer of ownership is conducted strictly between the buyer and the seller.
2. Illinois Consumer Protection Disclosures
Pursuant to the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505/) and federal truth-in-advertising guidelines:
- Paid Placements: Partners (private sellers and dealers) pay flat fees to advertise listing profiles on ChicagoPickups.com. These fees are directory fees and do not represent brokerage commissions, dealer document fees, or transactional licensing.
- Inventory Availability: Because listings are updated periodically, listed trucks may have been sold, traded, or removed by the seller before data updates on the website. ChicagoPickups.com is not responsible for bait-and-switch practices of external parties.
- Independent Pricing Verification: Advertised prices do not include dealer doc fees, sales tax, title registration, licensing fees, or delivery costs. All final pricing must be verified directly with the seller.
3. Vehicle History & Condition Disclaimer
Vehicle information, odometer logs, title grades (e.g. clean, rebuilt, salvage), frame descriptions, and specs listed on this site are provided solely for informational and convenience purposes. ChicagoPickups.com does not verify, safety-test, or guarantee the mechanical integrity, history, or frame safety of any listed truck.
Buyers are strongly encouraged to perform their own due diligence before signing purchase contracts, including:
- Ordering a certified third-party vehicle history report (e.g., CARFAX or AutoCheck).
- Arranging a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) with a certified, independent mechanic in the Chicagoland area.
- Verifying the vehicle identification number (VIN) and current title certificate against local DMV databases.
4. Illinois Dealer Compliance Attestation
All commercial automotive dealers listing trucks on ChicagoPickups.com are contractually required to warrant compliance with Illinois Secretary of State vehicle advertising rules (14 Ill. Adm. Code 475) and federal guidelines. It is the sole responsibility of the advertising dealer to ensure that all advertised financing terms, APR rates, down payments, and inventory status are accurate and compliant with the Truth in Lending Act (TILA).
